ProFire Model 1420 Digital Programmable Temperature Controller – 8-Step Ramp & Soak Control
The ProFire Model 1420 Digital Programmable Temperature Controller provides advanced automatic temperature control for compatible ProFire electric kilns and furnaces. Designed for firing processes that require more than a single maintained temperature, the Model 1420 features an 8-step programmable controller that allows operators to create automated firing schedules using individual set point, ramp, and soak settings.
Each programmable step can be configured with its own target temperature, ramp setting, and soak period, allowing the kiln to automatically progress through a multi-stage firing schedule.
The controller also provides a full-scale digital readout of the programmed set value along with a separate Process Value (PV) temperature readout, making it easy to monitor both the desired and current kiln temperatures throughout operation.

8-Step Ramp & Soak Programming
Unlike a single setpoint controller, the Model 1420 allows the operator to create a firing program consisting of up to eight individual steps.
Each step provides control over three primary parameters:
- Set Point: The target temperature for that stage of the firing program
- Ramp: Controls the progression toward the programmed temperature
- Soak: Controls the period at the programmed temperature before advancing to the next step
This provides greater flexibility for applications that require controlled heating stages, temperature holds, or other multi-stage firing processes.
